GRADING
Those attending the full camp may take grading exams.
- Dan grading (Black Belt): Saturday afternoon
- Kyu grading for children up to 12 years and to Red-White Belt: Sunday morning (final session before lunch)
- Kyu grading for all others: Sunday afternoon
To take a grading exam, you need:
- A karate gi with the style emblem sewn or embroidered on the left side of the jacket
- A grading book with name and photo (available for purchase at the camp for beginners)
- Paid membership and term fee
- Active participation in regular training during the term (at least 50% for Orange Belt, 67% for Green Belt and above)
- Active participation in the full camp (any exceptions, such as attending only one day, must be approved by your instructor or chief instructor)
- Approval for grading (your instructor must confirm that you have attended enough lessons and achieved the necessary skill level; for grading to Orange-White Belt and above, written confirmation via email is required)
- Sufficient time since last grading (6 months must have passed since the last grading; longer for certain higher levels. If you graded at Yorokobi’s catch-up grading earlier this semester, you cannot grade at the camp. Some examiners may specify an even longer waiting period—always follow the time noted in your grading book.)
More information can be found under Träning & Gradering > Gradering.
MISCELLANEOUS
Bring a water bottle, packed lunch, and snacks to keep up energy between training sessions.
Täby Centrum is a 5-minute walk from Tibblehallen and offers various food options. Expect possible queues.
If you or your child has airborne or contact allergies, please email Yorokobi so Tibble Karate Club can be informed before the camp.
CATCH-UP GRADING
For those that cannot attend the camp due to e.g. illness, a catch-up grading will be arranged at Yorokobi. At Yorokobi, grading only goes up to green belt—higher-level exams are only conducted at Tibble Karate Club. More details on catch-up grading will be announced separately.
